Update
So, I’ve wasted some time trying to switch my domain over to ranchredo.com. It’s not working quite yet. Tonight I got some good advice from Merideth over at House Made and I’m hoping I might get a little further with my efforts in the next week. I’m learning all kinds of new stuff about code and other strange things I never thought I’d learn. What I won’t do for my houseblog.
In other news it’s been warm enough (too warm if you ask me) to finally finish painting the double-hung window in the kitchen. Of course, while I was painting it I slipped and caught myself on my new shutter (sorry dad). The shutter is not quite as perfect as it was before, so I’m going to have to take a look at it when I’m not pissed off. Whenever I ruin something, even in a little way, I have to wait about a week before I can fix it. If I try to fix it right away, I usually end up screwing it up even more. Anyway, tomorrow I’ll scrape the paint off of the window pane, and post a picture of the finished window. It’s about time.
I’m checking out the new Stylehive, a “social networking” site dedicated to shopping. It might work well to keep track of things I want, just ‘cause I always forget. I’m still pondering it.

I’ve been looking at getting a custom domain of my own for my blog, too. As a fellow blogsome user, I’d love to hear how you’re pursuing this transition. Good luck!

dont worry! you’ll get it with your new domain!
In other news: i TOTALLY get your not being able to fix something after you’ve just busted it. I too have to just walk away and address is when i’m less freakin irked by the whole thing. Here i thought it was just a me thing.

Josh, right now I’m frustrated, but thanks to Merideth over at House-Made I’m hanging in! First I bought the domain from GoDaddy, then I bought some space over at Made2Own, I just downloaded all the photos. I can’t use the same template, it’s just too difficult to switch over, so I picked a new one and am now tweaking it ever so slowly. Next I’m going to move the posts. I can’t seem to figure out an easy way to do that, so one by one right now, which kinda makes me want to scream.

Super helpful– thanks! I was looking at GoDaddy a little while back, but server space was the detail I hadn’t figured out. Transferring the posts manually sounds like a major pain so thanks for the warning and good advice.
