Balzac was pretty good. I read that last year. Have you ever read Wild Swans?

Reading Lolita is really slow...so hang in there! I'll have to look up the other one. I'm reading "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress" right now and it's fantastic!

Sadly, with all the money we're pouring into the landscaping right now, we had to wait on the outside lights. I think those will come in a few months. Today we had 6 yards of gravel dropped off for all the paths in the yard. On the first of the month we'll have the funding to actually buy the pavers! In the meantime, I think we're going to buy 3 yards of rock, and Trevor, our friend, will begin building the rock wall in front of the yard.
I just began Reading Lolita today. It's really good so far. I got sidetracked reading Bookseller of Kabul, which I highly recommend. I'm taking a class right now and focusing my readings on the middle-east.

Wow! the house looks great! I like the window and I totally understand the painful yardwork. I'm about to post some more pictures!
So, are you liking "Reading Lolita from Tehran"? Our bookgroup read it and loved it, but it took a while to get through!
Oh, and where's your post on the outdoor lights? Did any of them have motion sensors on them? we have this weird wiring and some of our outdoor lights don't actually have switches on them (don't you love old houses!).

My hair was having a good day. Sometimes, well, most times, it's very droopy. :) I'm soooo happy with the window. All that is left in the kitchen: 1) scribe molding 2) threshold to TV room 3) long screws for one plug in 4) smooth ceiling around range hood; and 5)replace drawer face that Eric accidentally drilled a hole in. Really, it's hardly anything, but I'll still be happy if it's done by August, we've moved on to other projects and it's so hard to go back!!
